Happy New Year Wishes Machine
Practical Notes Every Designer Should Check Before Stitching
- Always test on scrap fabric first—especially with stretchy or textured textiles like terry cloth or fleece.
- Confirm hoop size compatibility. While it fits comfortably in a 4x4, verify exact dimensions in the file details before assigning it to a tight-space project like a cap front or pocket detail.
- Review stabilizer choice carefully. Lightweight cutaway works well for stable wovens; tear-away + topping is ideal for knits or nap-heavy fabrics like terry.
- Inspect small satin stitch curves after stitching. A few tiny loops appeared on my first cap test—easily resolved by slowing machine speed to 650–700 RPM and checking thread tension.
- Compare light and dark fabric mockups before finalizing thread palettes. What reads clearly on ivory linen may vanish on black cotton twill.
- Verify licensing terms on the Creative Fabrica product page before selling finished products. As a commercial embroidery file, it permits use in physical goods—but always double-check permitted use cases for your business model (e.g., POD vs. handmade batches).
